CONCACAF stands for the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football.
As the name implies, CONCACAF consists of three zones:
1. The North American Zone (NAFU - North American Football Union)
2. The Central American Zone (UNCAF - Union of Central American Football)
3. The Caribbean Zone (CFU - Caribbean Football Union)
Every four years, CONCACAF holds a qualification tournament for the World Cup Soccer.
During the qualification tournament, the national teams in each of these zones compete for 6 direct spots and 2 inter-confederation play-off spots.
